2. Cry at the absolute beauty of it.
3. Love the author and her genius to bits, and hope that she will become my friend. (Yes, I know this is scary, but I mean her no harm. Hahaha, I just truly admire her work.)
4. Fall in love with the main character.
5. Go to the library in search of Rilke, just to find some sort of connection with the fictional character that I hopelessly love. Yes, love.
2. Read Rilke's poetry, despite being the poetry amateur that I am. But I take pleasure in the fact that the word "amateur" actually came from a Latin word, which means "lover." So now I am proud to say that I am indeed an amateur when it comes to films and poetry.
4. Wish that I knew German. Seems that English doesn't do enough justice to Rilke's work.
5. Fall in love with Rilke's words anyway:
But because being here means so much, and because all

oh, to say them in a way that the things themselves
never dreamed of existing so intensely.

_fiercely free Because
While this adorable little boy made me squeal with his cuteness, two handsome young men made me cry:
I loved this movie for its wit and coherence, but I have to voice my displeasure at the large amounts of unnecessary Harry-Hermione interaction. *slut slut slut!* Hahaha...sorry. It's just that the film could have capitalized on moments like this one:
With Ronald looking so effortlessly hot and Hermione blooming, plus the presence of "third parties" in the form of Krum and Fleur, we could have had so much more GOF moments with these two. Sayang.
-----------------------------
Let's take a few moments to go back to the beginning of the love:
When did you start liking Harry Potter?
Which book is your favorite?
Which movie is your favorite?
Favorite character(s)?
What are your favorite ships?
Take out Book 3 and reread the part after Hermione slapped Draco. She was all sabog after realizing that she had missed class...because she was "thinking about Malfoy." Uh-huh, you read it right. *winks*
And why don't you insert that PoA DVD into your DVD player and fast forward right up to the part when Buckbeak attacks Draco and he's lying on the ground, crying in pain... Someone immediately hurries forward and cries, "Hagrid! We have to take him to the hospital!"
Who could it be? Oh yes, it was Hermione. I wonder why? Hmm...
Perhaps the film was being true to the book, in which Hermione ran and held the gate open in order to let Hagrid, who was carrying Malfoy, pass through to get to the hospital wing.
Still don't believe me? Then try cracking your Book 4 open to find the part when Ron, Hermione, and Harry encounter Draco as they try to run from the mayhem at the World Cup. "You wouldn't like her spotted, would you?" Who uttered those lines with special emphasis on "her?" Draco. He added another warning, "Keep that big bushy head down, Granger."
Read between the lines, and here's what you'll find: Draco was trying to protect Hermione. *wink wink wink*
That's why I just love icons like these:

_fiercely free I know what the f*ck is going on.

@#$%&* you. @#$% you sincerely.
There was sand underneath my eyes, gritty and unyielding as endless shores against the gentle onslaught of dancing waves.
It was sand underneath my eyes. And now my soul is the island, tiny and unmoving, so still that the roaring waters of the ocean are overwhelmed by the silence.
And in this sacred place, atop a beautiful citadel, angels are standing guard, immortalized in the stone walls.
_fiercely free For the first time in my life, I don't know everything. Yes, for many years, I have been arrogant, but this time around, I am the most humble person in there.
Please pray for me.
I'm so scared.

_fiercely free Here he is - before, during, and after the swing bench scene:
And with this bit of a carefree childhood playing out right in front of me, I am happy for a little while.
But my worried eyes still find themselves reflected on the shiny screen of the television, seeing a dark, uncertain reality underneath the flashing images of Technicolor happiness.
_fiercely free I liked the movie. There were some stupid moments on the part of the lead female character (Ana Tor.rent), such as the times when she GOF-ly ran from the handsome Ed.uard.o Nor.iega. But there were also some remarkable shots and sequences, which made the whole thriller work. I agree with A.men.aba.r when he said that the best one was the seduction scene with B.osc.o (Nor.iega) and Angela (Tor.rent). Whew. Loved that scene, a simple but brilliant one in which "the frame diminishes." Nor.iega positively smoldered in that one, but the real hot talent was Fe.le!
Fe.le made the second best scene my favorite one. It was when he (as jaded Che.ma) and Angela were walking in the dark tunnels, guided by the matchsticks that he kept lighting as he told her the story about a princess and a dwarf. Like A.men.aba.r said, it shifted the mood from a scary one to a more poignant tone, thanks to Fe.le. And I also loved the ending.
Good film! Great directing, as always. I didn't realize A.men.aba.r was that strict and meticulous a director until I saw the making of the film; I guess that's what makes him a great one. And credit is due to the actors as well, of course. Ana was an effective actress, while Nor.iega was mysterious and enigmatic as Bos.co, but the real star for me is Fe.le:
In this film, as the unkempt, sarcastic film student (uy, bagay kami, haha) Che.ma, he looks like a combination of John.ny Depp, Gar.y Old.man, Tob.ey Magu.ire, and even Har.ry Pot.ter! I can't believe that I don't remember him from when I watched "Abr.e Los Oj.os" (with Ed.uard.o Nor.iega in the lead role) before.
I can't wait to watch him with Ga.el Garc.ia Bern.al in "Ba.d Ed.uc.at.ion!"
(I realize that this entry is peppered with dots...sorry if it bothers whoever reads this stuff. Hehe. ;j )

They hug.
_fiercely free 1. As a Solitary kind of person, I honestly think that I have it in me to be a hermit. A hermit with media access, but still.
2. When I was feeling down, helpless, and confused, I turned to my Psychology textbook and pored over it for hours. Newly equipped with knowledge about my behavior and emotions, I felt decidedly steadier afterwards. Now I'm feeling guilty - Why didn't I think of the Bible???
3. I was recently overcome with the urge to run. And not just any ordinary kind of running...I want to run in snow, during winter.
4. Here's a secret: there was a time when I was in love with love. Yes, that's over now; I've moved on. But sometimes, when I'm feeling sad, happy, or nothing at all, I get drunk on poetry, literature, and film...and like a heartbroken fool, I remember...
5. I had my hair cut three days ago, and let me just say: the blowdrier is a deceitful little creature! My hair looked absolutely beautiful when I left the salon, but when I woke up the next day, I was faced with the reality of what I like to call "post-makeover hair." It's new, modern, sassy, and very "big city" at first, but then you're left with the fact that it has to be properly dried, blowdried, or flat-ironed to get it that way. Serves me right for cooing over layers. Now I have to devote time to my hair, which I didn't even bother combing back then!
6. Maybe because I'm supposed to feel depressed, but I'm seriously considering a purple or blue streak in my hair. And my parents actually approve. That's something, right?
7. Grades come out tomorrow. *cries* And I'm still confused about which track to take; it's not like journalism and production are two opposing forces, each trying to one-up the other. Things would probably be easier for me if they were "fighting" each other on some level, because then, sooner or later, one would emerge as the winner.
But noooo...
You know why this is so difficult for me?
In my twisted little head, Journ and Prod are actually very close friends, each one fiercely protective of the other. When I ask them which one I should take, they don't claw at each other and compete. Not at all.
For me, they are hugging, giving way to each other because neither wants to leave the other behind. They want to stay with each other.
"No stupid one-track rule will separate us!" they stubbornly cry.
*CRIES in confusion*

_fiercely free Sa.ssy Girl Ch.un Hya.ng is the cutest Korean television show!!! Full Hou.se, of course, has a lot to offer, especially in terms of looks - ahem, So.ng Hye K.yo and Bi - but the show Ch.un Hya.ng is soooo cute! It also has action and drama rolled into the comedy-romance plot, complete with visual effects, special cinematography, and juxtaposition (Sorry, that was the only word I could think of for the way they merged the historical folk tale with the modern version. ;j).
And I consider Ja.e He.e, who played Le.e Mo.ng-ryo.ng, as one of the best actors ever. With his talent, the transformation of Mo.ng-ryo.ng from an immature, funny cutie to a determined, romantic hottie was amazing. (Sorry, let me just wipe off the drool at this point. Hahaha! Slap me if you want, but I love this guy!) I also saw how professional he was when I watched the NG's or bloopers of the show. And I can't leave out the fact that he is...come on, guess the word..you can do it...yep, you got it: CUTE. Obviously, "cute" is the operative word of this part of the post. *laughs, melts, and dies because of cuteness*
---------------------------------
I saw the commercial for this very, very, very interesting stage play on the cable channel Wo.wow. Tonight, I had the chance to actually watch it in its entirety.
Let me describe the set: There were around 5 people onstage, positioned in specific locations designed especially for their characters. Basta the production design was great...there were 2 pairs of bunks on each side of the stage, and within those square spaces were the characters in their own homes or workplaces. In the center of the stage, an office space was constructed...occupied by a man with thick glasses and unruly hair. (See guy on the right.) And the one very interesting characteristic of this production: each person had a laptop or computer in front of him, monitors that served as cameras projecting their faces onto a large screen in the middle of the whole set, along with everything that they said to each other.
I hope that made sense...basta the set-up served to show their interaction with each other throught the Internet. That's how I understood it, anyway, considering that the whole thing was in Japanese!
It's just such a crying shame that I can't understand Nihongo all that well. All right, that's an understatement. I can't understand it at all, save for a few words, phrases, characters, and sentences. *groans in frustration*
So I didn't really sit through the whole thing, but I watched a large chunk of it until the end, which I'm proud to say that I kind of understood! Yes!!! Hahahaha..there was a part where one guy was screaming at the computer: "Shine! Shine! Shine!" And I knew that he was saying, "Die! Die! Die!" And there was a part after the lead character, the nerd in the middle of it all, came back looking all suave (see the guy on the left), saying "Tadaima" (I'm home)... and when he recounted his experiences to the guys, there was a part when I understood that they all called him stupid ("Baka! Baka!"). Hahaha..I sound stupid, I know, but I understood little bits of the conversation! Extremely itty-bitty bits, but still!
And it wasn't that hard to watch the whole thing, since it was all so interesting. (Hahaha.."interesting" is the operative word for this part of the post.) And the ending was great! He was narrating what happened between him and the girl through his lines, combined with the images of the two of them on the screen. According to my very limited Japanese, I believe that as he held the girl's hand, he shakily told her that he liked her. "Sukidesu." And I also understood that the girl repeated it back to him, after a lot of words that I didn't understand. But the bottom line is that she also liked him. And so, as tears fell from his eyes, he thanked her. "Arigato." Of course, he said that with a lot more words that I obviously didn't understand, but still...he thanked her.
As he cried on his knees after telling of the experience, the guys clapped and congratulated him as emoticons and keyboard drawings of cute things flooded the screen. And then, they all stood up, tore themselves away from the computer screens, and walked across the stage towards their own lives.
I LOVED IT! I would have loved it even more if I understood it, but yeah, I liked it a lot! Great combination of media. Remarkable acting, especially by the lead character, played by San.eha.ru Tak.e.da. I probably wouldn't have understood as much as I did if it weren't for his good acting skills.

I'm sure everyone has had their say about what they loved about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so let me present just a few of the shallow things that made the movie worth my while:
I love litte Nigel! ;)
Cedric "Perfect Pretty Boy" Diggory and Harry Potter (in the bathtub)
I'm not kidding...I really cried. *hahaha!*
Ron-Hermione Romance
1st year high school, when I read The Sorcerer's Stone before all the hype. I "accidentally" bought it when I couldn't choose a book; I hurriedly plucked it off the shelves of PowerBooks just before the store closed, not knowing what a marvelous book it was at the time.
Hands down, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the best book for me. Everything happened in that book, and I cried and I cried and I cried.
It's actually a toss-up between Cuaron's Prisoner of Azkaban and Newell's Goblet of Fire. The cold darkness of the third movie reflected Cuaron's genius, while the fourth, despite leaving out a lot of things, was quite seamless and by far the wittiest of all the films.
(Do I have to remind everybody how much the first two films sucked? Especially the 2nd! Chris Columbus should be in hiding. Seriously.)
- Harry James Potter, of course. Need I say more?
- And his father, the endearing Seeker who messes up his hair on purpose: James Potter. *grins*
- Ron Weasley! Every comment is an unwittingly witty Weasley wisecrack!
- To some extent, I would have to say Dumbledore. Yup, you could call me "Dumbledore's girl through and through."
I'm a complete Ron-Hermione person when in comes to the actual books, but if it's fanfic we're talking about, then it's gotta be DRACO-HERMIONE forever! (And I hate all that Harry-Hermione crap.) They are perfect for each other; I have evidence!
Draco Malfoy + Hermione Granger = LOVE.
I love them! *fangirl mode*

In the midst of everything, it's comforting to know that some things will stay the same. Here then, ladies and gents, is a classic example of REGRESSION: me watching an old favorite movie from my childhood, cooing over young characters and familiar storylines, as well as the biggest crush of my grade school years: an image of my dearest De.von Sa.wa as preserved in a DVD copy of "Now and Th.en." ;j
