It could be just one breathtaking scene, with the right heartfelt line, the right bizarre surprise, the right swelling music, or the right captivating look…

And it could end up on my collection of "love lines" from movies. Yup, other people collect stamps, coins, accessories. I collect lines from films. I've been doing it for years now, so there are 162 films (and counting) in my file, each one worth many quotes about love and romance.

Of course, there are the usual verbose proclamations of love, most of which border on cheesy and cliched. But there are the scenes that stand out because of the context in which they were used, the sentiments they hold, the way the characters said the lines, and most importantly, the way I felt when I watched them. :) Sometimes, there's almost nothing remotely romantic about the scene, but when a line is said the right way or it just tingled with love (i can't explain that, but you'll feel it), it has to be on my list. I didn't include all of the best ones. I worked hard for those quotes, and here you are just getting 'em from me...hehe. *Credit to the scriptwriters, directors, filmmakers and actors.*

So here are a few of the non-romantic but ultimately heart-tugging, breathtaking, and tearjerking lines that have made my list:

144. "Casper"
Casper to Kat: Can I keep you?

141. "Spirited Away"
White Dragon: Don't forget, Chihiro...I'm on your side.
Chihiro: How do you know my name?
White Dragon: I've known you since you were little.

I don't know why I included this...but I just felt *love* when White Dragon said this. :)

140. "Love Actually"
Jamie Bennett: It's my favorite time of day, driving you.
Aurelia (in Portuguese): It's the saddest part of my day, leaving you.

Okay, I know I said "non-romantic", but I just had to include this one...my friends and I absolutely cried over that line!

Daniel: Well, you know - I thought it might be something worse.
Sam: Worse than the total agony of being in love?
Daniel: Oh. Yeah, you're right. Total agony.

Hahaha. :)

137. "Chasing Liberty"
Anna Foster: I couldn't have done any of this without you.
Ben Calder: Seems to me you'd be just fine on your own.

Actually, this film is treasure trove of love lines, but I only showed this one because you should have seen how Matthew Goode said this line. I swear, that boy knows how to make a girl's heart skip a beat! And he can do it without even trying.

107. "Matrix Reloaded"
Trinity: It's all right. They need you.
Neo: I need you.
Trinity: I know. There's time.

105. "Just Married"
Sarah McNurny: Wow.
Tom Leezak: Yeah.

If you can't remember this scene, you probably won't get it. But these lines just tingled. :)

100. "Hero"
Broken Sword to Flying Snow: I always wanted to go home with you.

I just cried buckets when he said this line. But then again, I cried buckets during the whole movie too.

80. "Good Will Hunting"
Sean to Will Hunting: And if I asked you about women I'm sure you could give me a syllabus of your personal favorites, and maybe you've been laid a few times too. But you couldn't tell me how it feels to wake up next to a woman and be truly happy...And if I asked you about love I'd get a sonnet, but you've never looked at a woman and been truly vulnerable. Known that someone could kill you with a look. That someone could rescue you from grief. That God had put an angel on Earth just for you. And you wouldn't know how it felt to be her angel. To have the love to be there for her forever. Through anything, through cancer. You wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in a hospital room for two months holding her hand and not leaving because the doctors could see in your eyes that the term "visiting hours" didn't apply to you. And you wouldn't know about real loss, because that only occurs when you lose something you love more than yourself, and you've never dared to love anything that much.

These lines, delivered perfectly by Robin Williams, may be the best in my collection.

65. "Snow Day"
Hal: Wasn't it you that said that true love was all about finding someone you can stand to be around for ten minutes at a time?
Laine: Yeah.
Hal: Well, you got ten minutes?

48. "Shakespeare in Love"
Lord Wessex: How is this to end?
Queen Elizabeth: As stories must when love's denied: with tears and a journey.

46. "Music from Another Room"
Family Member (on being in love): What's it like?
Danny: You know how when you're listening to music playing from another room? And you' singing along because it's a tune that you really love? When a door closes or a train passes by so you can't hear the music anymore, but you sing along anyway...then, no matter how much time passes, when you hear the music again you're still in exact same time with it. That's what it's like.

I love Jude Law. Enough said.

24. "The Object of My Affection"
Rodney Fraser: One shouldn't be too hard on oneself when the object of one's affection returns the favor with rather less enthusiasm than one might have hoped.

10. "Chasing Amy"
Holden to Alyssa: If this is a crush... then I don't know if I could take the real thing if it ever happens.

6. "Notting Hill"
Anna Scott: Can I stay a bit longer?
William Thacker: Stay forever.

This movie is a gem.

138. "Cold Mountain"
Inman: This doesn't come out right. If it were enough to stand, without the words...
Ada Monroe: It is. It is.
Inman: Look at the sky now. What color is it? Or the way a hawk flies? Or when you wake up and your ribs are bruised thinking on something, somebody so hard. What do you call that?

I call that *DEATH*, Jude Law. :) Hahahaha.
